UHMWPE高分子量(分子量通常只有2 ~ 30万的HDPE)以其优秀的使用性能，属于价格适中、性能良好的热塑性工程塑料，它集中了各种塑料的优点，几乎具有普通聚乙烯和其他工程塑料无法比拟的耐磨性、抗冲击性、自润滑性、耐腐蚀性、吸收冲击能量、耐低温、卫生、无毒、不易粘连、吸水性小、密度大等综合性能。事实上，没有简单的高分子材料具有如此多的优异性能。

超高分子量聚乙烯板突出优异特性：

1、耐磨性高居各类纯塑料，而且随分子量的增大而提高;UHMWPE与钢、铜配对时容易产生粘着磨损，对配偶件的磨损小。使用寿命高于钢质，耐磨性是炭钢及不锈钢的3～7倍;

2、自润滑性很好，滚动摩擦系数在塑料中较低，可以在无润滑下以滑动或转动的形式工作，其润滑性比钢和铜在有润滑油的情况下还要好!

3、具有很强的吸收冲击能和摩擦消音的性能，有摩擦噪声小的优点;

4、冲击强度列塑料，是现有塑料品种中较耐冲击的一种，常温冲击强度可与聚碳酸酯PC媲美，而低温冲击强度甚至比聚碳酸酯PC还要好;其冲击强度是ABS的8倍、PA66的10倍、POM的22倍、PBT的25倍!

5、耐疲劳性很好，耐疲劳强度大于50万次;

6、分子量较大，但不饱和键很少，因此具有优良的耐化学腐蚀性，能耐各类腐蚀性介质，比如：酸、碱、盐，也能耐各类有机溶剂;

7、耐环境应力开裂的性能很好，是普通乙烯的200倍，抗应力开裂时间高达4000小时;而且耐高温蠕变性也非常好;UHMWPE的耐辐射性亦很好;
